No shoes, no shirt, no services!

Checked OK!

WarmShowers.com is a site for bikers to ask other bikers for a free, warm shower and a place to pitch a tent.
We tried this for the first time at Great Falls and it was fantastic!!!!
Becky and Ron opened their house to us and we had an wonderful evening!! Thanks again All of you!

Two x David??

David got a visit in Lewistown from his 5 minute older twin brother and his wife Cindy.
They are the same size, behavior, way of talking++ I got confused more than once that evening!!
Thanks for a nice dinner and a day at a very nice hotel!

Some Bar highlights!

Elgslim på flaske!

Stilig at de lager eget Elgslim øl.. Smakte faktisk ganske bra!!
Moose Drool beer!!

Lost in translation

Now Anders English is excellent but sometimes it leaves me scratching my head! For example today he asked a woman if she wanted to try his biking shorts on. She got a good laugh but quickly moved away from us. I guess he misunderstood her. We both feel a little self- conscious about having to wear Lycra biking clothes into these remote cowboy bars!
Apparently Friday night is karaoke night in Montana bars. It was quite memorable to listen to Anders sing Johnny Cash in a thick Norwegian accent.
Got to hand it to him- he's not shy and is learning a lot about American customs.

Montana

Currently in Ft. Benton and on the Missouri river again. Ft Benton was the end of the line for the river boats that came up from St. Louis. We saw some beautiful country today, passing through little towns with interesting names like Geraldine and Coffee Creek. It was nice to see Pete and Cindy. Thanks you guys.

Summer Solstice

On the longest day of the year we had our toughest day- head wind and rain- that turned into our nicest day of the ride. Thanks to Don and Carol Switzer for putting us up and showing us their land. We were truly impressed. Thanks a lot guys- it was a highlight of our trip so far. Here's a picture of the 3 amigos.

Indianere!

Nice work!

When I met Ham and Bacon

Just a few days ago I met Ham and Bacon! Nice guy's so I didn't tell them that I may had their dad on my plate this morning :)

Getting close to 1000 miles now!!

Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and two large maps are history! The computers are close to 1000 miles and the part of the body close to the saddle screamed for a small break after two hard days of riding. So today its a rest day in a nice Hotel! :)

Rest day will be like: Wash clothes, fixing bike, clean and oil the chain, charging phones, fix mirror, eat, eat and sleep!!!
I may have missed mentioned drink a beer or two, looking at the girls, party..(only dreaming!)

Nice day today!

Pros:
-Managed to do almost 140km today!
-Huge surf&turf dinner
-My ass is almost good as new!
-Got two cold bottles of water for free from a passing farmer!
-Possible to by fresh fruit today, 3 day since last time..
-Nice weather
-Almost no corn or soya beans fields anymore!
-Tailwind

Cons:
-So tired after that big dinner..
-They only sell light beer in US!!!!!! You maybe save a calorie, but you get big depressions instead! Also taste like shit!
-Up biking at 6 tomorrow to try to get some tailwind..
-Another 140km
-it's hot!!!!!!!!

Lite Beer Blues

Poor Anders can't find any decent beer here in the heartland of America. Some bars sell only lite beer. Bud light is the preferred can thrown out on the side of roads along the Lewis and Clark trail.

Chief Black spotted horse, Isadore "Izzy" Zephier

Chief Black spotted horse, Isadore "Izzy" Zephier kindly drove us to the Sun Dance area. He told us about the ceremonial dance that will start the 18th and continue for four days.

That was a very strong and special man! Meeting someone like him makes you feel small again. He reminded us about the important things in life. It certainly made me start thinking again about the native rights around the world, and what's really important in life..

A Special Haircut

We came out of a saloon and saw this barber shop across the street. The barber was asleep. His shop has been a barber shop since the 40's and everything in it was that old too. He charged Anders $5 and wouldn't accept a $1 tip. Time warp for sure.

Lost Again

I'm not really sure why but Anders and I manage to get lost at least once a day! And small towns are the worst. We have at least 15 "lost" miles out of our current 575 miles. In the picture of the bridge we crossed it twice , maybe even 3 times. But I've posted a picture of our new map and that should help. :)
